The "scan" conference was established seven years ago and became a traditional and among specialists much appreciated event. It aims to bring newest information about the conversion of paper documents into electronic format, and about the possibilites and advantages resulting from the use of electronic documents.

Already the first year of the confernce sparked an exceptionally positive reaction among the participants. Today "scan" has succesuly underwent seven conferences and it is regarded as an outstanding event not only in the CR but also in the whole region of the Central and Eastern Europe. Every year it attracts foremost specialists as well as senior managers from banking and insurance institutions, pension funds, state administration, ICT, Telco, internaional corporations and others.

The best proof of the "scan" conference's high academic standards is the interest international specialists showed in the conference. Many esteem the conferene as highly professional and significant event in the field of "Document Imaging".

The significance and high level of the "scan" conference is also well demonstrated by the regular participation of Mr. prof. Vladimír Smejkal, Chairman of the Commission for IT Law of the Czech Government Legislative Council, at recent "scan" conferences. 

Besides other important points Mr. Smejkal in his speech underlined the importance of digital documents for the e-Government in the Czech Republic and appreciated high standards of the "scan" conference.
